There were also witch hunting in Ostrobothnia, Finland. In Ostrobothnia, which comprised both the swedish and Finnish-spekaing areas, the number of accused persons amounted to about 160 people, of whom more than 30 were executed. In swedish-speaking Ostrobothnia there were more processes than in finnish-speaking Ostrobothnia. It was alos more common here than in the rest of Finland. These terrible persecutions on women that were somehow different  were the worst around the 1670s. In fact, women who had learned to use what nature offered in the form of herbs and plants, who did not like to be shaped according to society´s views and standards how and where a woman´s place was, these were the women living in fear to be executed.
